The objective was the creation of a flight information display system (FIDS) to be viewed on a mobile device consisting of multiple screens and a given set of information, focusing on ease of use and intuitive design features.
Initial Concept/Experimentation
The first step of the process was to experiment with potential designs within Adobe Indesign. Simple layouts were created with the goal of getting a feel for how the information would be displayed, as well as how the layout with interact with the dimensions of the device and features of a touch screen.

Detailed Exploration
After creating the blueprints for the design, the next step was to add more details to the layout. Futura was chosen to present the information, as it closely matches the typeface utilized in the official branding of the airport. The color red was also utilized for the same reason.

Final Refinements
After receiving feedback, steps were taken to increase the appeal of the design. A larger focus was placed on the red elements, and the design of the buttons was changed to create a smoother, more refined look with the addition of drop shadows.

Layout Showcase Video
After the layout was completed, a video was created in Adobe XD which showcases the full layout being used like a real app.
